If You See Large Dark Patches

…then you have melasma.

Melasma is knowns as ‘THE MASK OF PREGNANCY”,  Melasma is one of the harder types of hyperpigmentation to correct because it  is tied to estrogen and progesterone (found in birthcontrol pills) and affect the deep dermal layers of the skin.

Melasma appears as dark patches on the skin.  It can usually be found on the sides of the face, the forehead, the upper lip, the chin and the sides of the neck.  Mild melasma appears as faint brown splotches that are rather small , but full blown melasma surfaces as patches of light brown skin with irregular borders.

Melasma can be corrected with the proper skin care regime, along with our lasers.  Please make an appointment for a free consultation and allow us to correct this issue for you.  901-362-7170
